CPR First Aid Course
HLTCPR211A – Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
This course will provide the participant with the skills and knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an adult, child or infant in line with The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
Course Content
- Assessing the situation
- Assessing the casualty’s signs of life
- Chain of survival
- Performing CPR
- Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Care of the unconscious casualty
- Infection control
- Government legislation
- Stress management
- Reporting procedures
Assessment Method
Demonstration of practical skills, verbal questioning, role play/scenario work and summary evaluation questions.
Certificate
A Statement of Attainment will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
