Sports Trainers

Our Sports Trainer programs equip club volunteers, coaches, and officials with the skills to provide immediate care and emergency response for athletes. We are the official provider for several major Victorian football and netball leagues.

Who are these courses for?

These courses are designed for club volunteers, coaches, team managers, and anyone responsible for player welfare at sporting clubs. They are suitable for all age groups, from junior to senior levels.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Sports Trainer Level 1 is required for trainers in Under 14s through to Senior football/netball.
  • For Under 8-13s, current Level 2 First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) are required. Under 11-13s also require Junior Sports Trainer (JST) training.
  • Clubs must have an Emergency Response Coordinator on site at all games.

Sports Trainer Level 1

The Sports Trainer course is training for individuals who want to become qualified sports trainers, capable of providing immediate and ongoing care for athletes.

Junior Sports Trainer

This course will provide the participant with the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a sports environment. The Junior Sports Trainer course is designed for trainers in a junior sport that does not require a Sports Trainer Level 1.
